Wabdr day 4
We met a group of riders heading south. They were going to meet their wives in Levenworth Wa for a vacation and then continue on.
Thunder storm in centeral Wa. can be real gully washers. We stopped at a closed store with covered gas pumps and discussed our options. We were there for about 2-1/2 hours or so it seemed.
We decided to go to Twisp Wa for lunch and wait for the storm to pass for a while. On the way back to the route I got this picture of a statue of an Indian fishing. I know someone that has a real fishing spear like that.
After the rain, we continued on over Ruby Hill. On top we ran into something that caught us by surprise, ducks swimming in the road. We checked it out for a while and then decided to try to go through. Tim volunteered to go first. I didn't get any pictures of him, but he made it through ok. Here's a picture of Dick making his way through the first one.

The way the land is up there, there's a kind of a meadow and it's shaped like a bowl with no outlet for the water, so when it rains, it just piles up and has to dry up or it's over the road. We make it through without any major problem, but it was one of the highlights of the trip.
We found a nice meadow for the camp for the night.
