Wednesday we left Parker Az and headed to San Diego Ca. The temperature got to the mid 80's, really nice. Not much out there in Az but desert, although there was beauty in the desert too.
In the Yuma Proving Grounds, there was this sign, no rock hunting here!
Target Drone or Weather Balloon? We've seen this before and in about the same place.
Sand dunes in Ca. just west of Yuma Az.
Interstate 8 heading west to San Diego, looks like the real "Rocky Mountains", most of those rocks are as big as our car.
San Diego.
The next morning. It didn't look like it was going to be a good day, weather wise, but it turned out to be nice.
Finally we made it to Sea World. A little nippy in the morning, probably in the mid 50's. Well nippy for us after being used to 80's.
Lots of beautiful fish there.
We found Nemo!
Another of their attractions is the turtles. Lots of turtles.
Lots of flowers too.
They do have some birds, but we didn't get to see too many of them, but we did see a few. Some were birds that belong to the park and some that call the park home.
"Happy Feet"
The real stars of Sea World are the Orcas. Shamu is the name of the Orca that is the star at the time, they all take turns being Shamu.
A good reason to not sit real close. They told those people about the "splash zone", but those people didn't realize what the "splash zone" was.
We took a tour that let us get close to some of the animals at the park and Mary got to interact with the dolphins and the moray eels.
She also got to interact with a big fish, I think he liked it.
They also had a couple of Polar Bears. It was nap time for this guy.
They also had 3 black and white dolphins, they looked like little Orcas. They aren't going to have any more of these dolphins, when they're gone, they're gone.
We had a good time at Sea World, it's worth the trip. They say that they aren't going to collect any more animals form the wild. If they get any more, they will be from other parks and zoos.
Tomorrow we are going to head north, we don't know when for sure we'll be home, kind of depends on the weather. Right now the weather is still good here and we are in no hurry to get back in the rain and yuk.
