The Ride Back

On the road again.

More wildflowers and great scenery. The ride back was better than the ride up, weather wise. We got to see Mt Adams and Mt Rainier, and a lot of the Cascades we couldn't see on the way up.

Our camp at Haney MDW. A few bugs here, but not too many.

Back at Ardenvoir, the food was rated 5 star by Odee.

Here's Odee.

We took a little different way home in some places and found this "Motel". It must have been a Snowmobile emergency shelter, it was unlocked and had a stove inside. We might have stayed here, but when we got to it, it only noon.

After lunch, we had to say goodbye to Tim. He's a good rider and fun to be with, and besides he helped me pick up my bike three times. :).

Dick and I decided to go over Chinook Pass instead of White Pass. I had never been that way, and I enjoyed it. there is still a lot of snow near the summit, but it was warm.

A close up look at Mt Rainier.

From here we had an uneventful ride home.

Total mileage for me was 1,414 and 1,040 on the route.

We saw many different animals, form chipmunks to wild turkeys, deer, elk, mountain sheep, owls, hawks, eagles. and even a coyote.

Maybe we can go back and get the parts of the route that we had to bypass, as of today, only one of the three places is open.

Thanks to Dick and Tim for allowing me, a rookie, to ride with them. We had a good time.
