WABDR day 2

Here’s a picture of Dick going up a very difficult portion of our trip, probably the hardest. Here’s what another rider posted about this area.

“Day 2 The difficult section are indeed difficult and not big bike friendly. I was on a 650 and my brother-in-law on an 800. we paired up with two awesome guys on a KLR and another 800 it kicked our asses, but we did not have any wrecks. On rider broke his center stand. The hills at Cleman Mountain are VERY Steep and VERY rocky.
Bethel Ridge Difficult section has lots of deep water ruts running along the road and is easy to get stuck in.
If you are on a 1200 with moderate experience take caution.”

How about a guy on a 1150 with very little experience?    Me.

After we got to the top, this is what we saw.

Here’s Dick  “ the old guy ” on his KLR 650.

The view from Cleman Mt. looking toward Mt Adams. We wouldn’t see Mt Adams until the way back.

On the way to our second camp, we encountered snow in the road, but that didn’t stop us.

Tim's turn to hit the snow bank.

An old cabin at Haney Mdw.  about 5500 ft elev.

The local residents of Haney Mdws.

A flat tire, just fix it and move on.

Our second camp.

The view from our camp.

Mushrooms and a fixer upper bird house.

Still having a good time
